Paul Lambert, Aston Villa boss, was very happy with his team after they were able to fight in the face of adversity and get a draw of 0-0 when they took on West Ham in their Premier League matchup, and many sportsbooks offering online bookmaking solutions saw a truly impressive display made by Lambert’s side.
Villa paid a visit West ham after they ended up losing six consecutive meetings, but they were able to clinch a key point as on Saturday, the team’s defence were unyielding with the pressure at Upton Park.
West Ham were the ones who were dominating possession of the ball, and Brad Guzan made numerous saves against them, which include a very nice stop with one hand during stoppage time that didn’t allow Andy Carroll – the substitute -from making his way back into first-team action with a goal scored.
The manager was delighted by Villa’s performance at defense, saying: “It’s a great point, a really great point.
And many fans following the club could not agree more with Lambert, especially after what they saw on the pitch.
“You’re coming to a ground where they’ve been playing really well; they’ve beaten [Manchester] City and Liverpool not long ago.
“To come here and play the way we did and be resolute was first class.”
When he reflected on the amazing performance made by Guzan, The Scot added: “That’s what he’s paid for. His save at the end [from Carroll] was world class.
“I’m really, really pleased for him.”
The manager even said that all three points could have been won by his side.
“In the second half I thought we were comfortable up until the last five minutes or so. Defending-wise they put their body on the line and it’s a massive point for us,” he said.
“I thought we looked a threat, especially in the second half. Gabby [Agbonlahor] had a great chance to go one up in the first half.
“We had chances, and can exploit spaces. Credit to the team because they’ve took a lot of stick at times.”
The football world saw a great display by Villa, and hope to see them continue this way on the pitch. Many sportsbooks, especially those who provide online bookmaking solutions, see Lambert’s side winning plenty of clashes in the future, and the game against West Ham was clear proof of the team’s resilience.
