Boxing Betting: Joe Gallagher believes that all Callum brothers could hold titles at once

On Saturday, Liam joined older brothers Stephen and Paul as a Lonsdale Belt winner when he beat Erick Ochieng for the empty light-middleweight belt with very good boxing odds.
Pay per head services saw that in Liverpool, on the same show, youngest brother Callum clinched the English belt in only his eighth bout, claiming a sixth consecutive first round stoppage against Patrick Mendy.
But price per head sportsbooks and boxing betting fans know that Callum, whose long-term future most likely lies at light-heavyweight, is currently campaigning at super-middleweight – which happens to be in the same division as his brother Paul.
The elder brother plans to defend his title one more time when he takes on Luke Blackledge before vacating and potentially paving the way for the 23-year-old Callum, and boxing betting fans all over the UK can’t wait to see what will happen.
But boxing betting fans found out that Gallagher, the quartet’s trainer, told Sky Sports that they are thinking about dropping to middleweight with Callum.
“Callum is one of the world’s hottest prospects after six consecutive first round knockouts and the sky is the limit,” he said.
“I thought Mendy would be a distance fight but he did a Tommy Hearns with that long right hand and we have a potential world superstar. We may just have to let him off the leash.
“We’ll consider dropping down a division and see what’s at middleweight, so it’s not totally out of the question (for all four to be champion).”
On Saturday night, Liam carried out the gameplan when he beat Ochieng over 12 sessions with great boxing odds, and Gallagher has no doubt that he can now enter the international scene.
“I’d put Liam up for a world title tomorrow,” he said. “Carlos Molina won a title in Las Vegas last weekend and I’d have no hesitation in putting Liam up for that.
“Stephen is twice a British champion at different weights and is in the top-10 in the world, while Paul is on his second reign as British champion, and we’re looking at a European title shot.

“It’s just beginning to sink in, 104 years the Lonsdale Belt has been in existence and it’s never been done before. It’s an amazing achievement and you’ve got to enjoy it while it lasts.”
