Diego Simeone wants to see Atletico Madrid take over when they face Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday, and pay per head software services know that keeping the ball will be most important thing.
For this upcoming meeting, the Spanish champions will try to have a repeat of their run last season to the finals of the Champions League, and many bookies have them as the favorites to advance when they take on the German side in what would be the first leg of the team’s last-16 tie.
In Leverkusen, before both sides had their initial meeting, Atletico Madrid’s manager mentioned being respectful towards Roger Schmidt’s side, and he stressed how important it is for Atletico to be the ones to keep the ball during the match
“It’s a huge match for us. We want to keep control of the game and also keep possession of the ball,” said Simeone.
“But we have to be careful. If we’re in possession, Leverkusen will apply a lot of pressure to get the ball back.
“We’re in very good shape and are really enthusiastic. But we have to be very focused – this is always very important for our performance. If we do that, we get a good result.
And the team’s fans hope that they remain as focused as possible when this meeting gets underway.
“Leverkusen has a good team structure and a great coach. It’s always important to show respect to your opponents.
“I don’t know if teams give us more respect now just because we’ve done well in the past.
“There may be more attractive opponents than us, who you would rather face, but we’re here. I don’t think we’re the favourites in this tie. It starts at 0-0 so anything is possible.”
Saul, forward for Atletico, suggested that his side could approach the game in a careful manner, and pay per head software services believe that plenty of caution could be crucial for them if they’re looking to win.
“It will be important to keep a clean sheet. We value having the second leg at the Calderon,” he said.
“We were very eager for the Champions League to return. It’s a competition we like and we’re excited.”
Atletico’s fans are very eager to see what will happen in this match, and many are confident that they will have no problems being the ones to dominate.
