Diego Simeone wary of Tevez

Coach Diego Simeone warned his team that Juventus striker Carlos Tevez can be a real danger to Atletico Madrid, and pay per head agents believe that the players should take his advice into very serious consideration.
On Wednesday, Juventus and Atletico are set to go head-to-head in the UEFA Champions League’s Group A, with the Italian champions beating Malmo and winning the tournament’s opening match.
Two weeks ago, Atletico – Spanish champions – were defeated in their pool opener by Greek side Olympiacos, and now this week Simeone’s side must get a very good result.
However, the coach believes that Tevez should be kept at bay when the team takes on Juve at the Vicente Calderon.
“We know that [Tevez] is an extraordinary player, he moves a lot between the lines, and he is very difficult to control,” said the coach.
“The secret will be to not allow him time to think, and not allow him to receive the ball.
“I don’t think that Juve will play on the counter-attack, they will enjoy a lot of space and recover the ball well.
“[Fernando] Llorente and Tevez push right to the touchline but they need to feel close to the midfielders. Juve will be expressive.”
For Wednesday’s meeting, the coach could miss the services of Gabi – midfielder and team captain – after his ankle was injured in Atletico’s 4-0 win over Sevilla on Saturday in La Liga.
However, even with Antoine Griezmann, Raul Garcia, Raul Jimenez, and Alessio Cerci also in doubt for the game, Simeone and many pay per head agents believe that the team will still be able to do a very good job on the pitch.
“We are a competitive team and I will have many options for tomorrow. The games are all different and depending on the game I will see who will play,” added the coach.
“Juventus are a team who have always worked very well, they are a solid team that it is hard to take points from.
“We face Juve with the utmost respect that they deserve as an established team. I like the work done over the years by Juve, we note the great work done behind their victories.
“Again, I have much respect and admiration for them.”
