Maicon extends contract with Roma

Maicon extends contract with RomaLocal bookies learned that Maicon, full-back for Roma, signed a one-year extension to his contract at the Stadio Olimpico, and many of the club’s fans were delighted when they found out that the player won’t be going anywhere for now.

The Brazilian’s past contract with the club was set to expire when this season comes to an end.

But on Monday, the 33-year-old player who is very famous all over the world for his abilities on the pitch signed a new deal that will see him stay until 2016 at Roma, and the option of one more season is included.

A statement that was released by Roma said: “AS Roma is pleased to announce that Maicon Douglas Sisenando has signed a contract extension with the club.

“His new deal will run until June 30, 2016 and includes an option for a further season.”

When he spoke about the new deal that he signed with the Rome club, the player said: “I’m proud to go on wearing these colours for many years to come.

“It’s a great honour and now it’s down to me to perform.”

The player was very invigorated when he went back to the Serie A, and many fans could clearly see this, as last term he was able to feature 28 times in the top flight as Roma had a second place finish. Many experts believe that the player’s career in the sport can improve even more if he continues playing for Roma.

But despite the player’s very solid start this season, his international career is apparently over.

However, there were many fans who were disappointed when they found out that Maicon was taken out of Brazil’s team due to an “internal problem” before the friendly game last month against Ecuador, and he was removed from coach Dunga’s squad when they face Argentina and Japan in the international break that is currently taking place.

Roma’s fans know very well what a talented player Maicon is, and many local bookies believe that the team could have added security that they’ll win plenty of future matches with the player in their ranks.
