Samir Nasri ready to return to action for Manchester City
By Andrew Scott Tuesday, 28 October 2014 06:31
Nasri – who is very well known in the football world for his great talent on the pitch – was not able to play for City since the team was defeated 1-0 by Bayern Munich on the 17th of September in the UEFA Champions League after he received an operation on his groin.
But this week the French player could return to action in City’s bid to bounce back from a 2-1 loss on Saturday to West Ham in the Premier League.
“[Samir] Nasri is working normally and is in the squad list for tomorrow,” said coach Pellegrini. “[Frank] Lampard is out, all the other players in the squad are fit.
“I don’t think Frank will be fit for the weekend but maybe he can be fit for next week.”
Even though he emphasised how important it is to achieve success in League Cup action, the coach did admit that his squad would most likely be rotated when Newcastle – who lost to City 2-0 in their season’s opening match – visits his side, in a game that Live betting fans all over the world can’t wait to see.
“It is very important for the club to win trophies,” added the coach. “That is why it doesn’t matter in which competition we are playing, we are trying to win all four competitions in the same way.
“I transmit the mentality to the players that every game you play is one you must try to win. If you ask me if I prefer to win the Premier League, maybe, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t want to win the Capital One Cup which is why we are involving the whole squad in this game.
“It is very important when you play so many games to have the whole squad ready to play, so we will probably make some changes.”
City’s fans are well aware of what a valuable asset Nasri is to the squad, and are keen to see him go back to the club in perfect condition. Still, he has to be very careful with his injury, and hopefully it won’t prove to be a problem if the player is to feature for City when they take on Newcastle.
