Edin Dzeko said that David Silva is the Premier League’s top player after Manchester City gave Newcastle United a 5-0 pounding, in a game that white label sportsbooks saw was a clear demonstration of the team’s strength.
On Saturday, Dzeko and Silva had a huge impact when City took out Newcastle 5-0, and they got the most out of the draw that Chelsea – current leaders – had with Burnley earlier on.
Silva was the one who set up the goal scored by Dzeko in the first half of the game with a very impressive pass, and the Spanish player scored himself on two occasions in the second period, before he was withdrawn prior to the team facing Barca on Tuesday in their Champions League tie.
Dzeko said: “The pass from David was first-class … and for me he is the best player in the Premier League.
“To have him here with us is an amazing thing, because with David you can always score goals.”
City, who late during the season were able to clinch each one of their two titles to date in the Premier League, are now 5 points behind Chelsea, having 12 rounds of games left for them to play.
The team’s recent victory over Newcastle took place after they thrashed Stoke City 4-1, and the striker is confident that City can still keep their title, something that many fans don’t doubt.
“Definitely we can. Maybe people think five points is a lot but if we can continue to play like today and the last game against Stoke we can definitely catch them [Chelsea],” added Dzeko.
“It was good for us to come into the game knowing that if we can win we can reduce the points [gap].
“We played an amazing game. The fans enjoyed this game and I did too.”
When it came to attacking, the Bosnian, who’s becoming very famous with white label sportsbooks for his abilities on the pitch, was chosen before Wilfried Bony, who featured for the very first time since the Africa Cup of Nations, and Dzeko downplayed the competition for a spot in the team’s starting XI players.
“I think we are all playing for one team and I don’t see him [Bony] as competition for me,” said Dzeko.
“We all try to get results for Man City and he is very welcome. He will definitely bring much more to our team.”
